Job Summary
This opening is for candidates which are actively enrolled in a post-secondary program and have a keen interest in Investment Reporting, Investment Performance Analytics, Innovation and Business Process improvement. The Boarding Reporting & Analytics team within the Investment Reporting, Data Governance & Valuations Department is accountable for designing and preparing materials on behalf of the Finance Division for various Board Committees and Senior Management Committees. In addition, the Boarding Reporting & Analytics team provides strategic support for the department and leads innovation, business process improvement, and continuous enhancement of integrated reporting.
What you will do:
- Supporting the team in preparing materials for submission and presentation to management committees.
- Building cross-functional reports and dashboards using a range of business intelligence tools and technologies to provide investment performance insight.
- Researching and analyzing complex data from various systems to gain insight and understand key metrics of the investment performance result.
- Participating in the Department’s projects.
- Creating and updating project or business process improvement documents.
- Interacting and collaborating with team members across our department.
- Any other duties which may be deemed appropriate to assist the department.
What you bring:
- Enrolled in a university program (preferably third year) with a focus on Accounting, Commerce, Computer Science, Finance and / or Mathematics.
- Keen interest in pursuing a professional designation (e.g., CFA, FSA, CPA).
- Good understanding of investment performance analysis and attribution.
- Working knowledge of the private and public market investments, including derivatives.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong data modelling, data processing and data analysis skills.
- Previous experience of developing reports using a range of business intelligence tools (e.g., QlikView/Qlik Sense, PowerBI) and technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Power Query) is an asset.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex processes that cut across Divisional business units in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal direction to achieve expected outcomes.
